Didn’t want to come home, had an awesome time as the youngsters say. Thought the villa couldn’t get any better but oh my Kath the alterations and the clever sensor lighting throughout is fantastic. So many great days and evenings out.
Must say Central Cars were brilliant and highly recommend them. The drivers we had and the one Anna had were so caring to them and the quality of the car seat and cot were of high standard. The cleaners, gardener and pool man were great. Couldn’t fault a thing with the cleaners as they thoroughly cleaned.
Thinking seriously of coming back next year again with my brother and his partner. They to have fallen in love with Kalkan and the luxury of the villa, we have been very spoilt. They are both well travelled but nothing to compare to Turkey. Val and Family

We all had a fabulous holiday and the Villa was just as described to us; we would certainly recommend KatMar to our friends.
We should say that Lycian Homes really do a great job and the pool and surrounds were immaculate at all times.
Overall a great time was had by all and thank you Kath and Martin for sharing you lovely Villa with us. Eddie, Alison, Tom and Anna

Stayed with a group of friends in June and was delighted with the whole experience. The house is wonderful, fully equipped with everything you could ever need and enough room to have your privacy even in a group of 6! The pool is lovely and the eating area outside a great place to hang out in the cool air at night and day. The surrounding area is packed full of things to do, from cultural, historical, shopping and relaxing to the weird and wonderful (gorge exploring). The visit was a real joy. Cheers! Suzanne

We had a fabulous holiday, thank you. The villa was perfect and we hired two cars to get around. We all fell in love with Kalkan and will definitely be going back. We had an amazing time. The villa is perfect and you catered for our every need. We have absolutely fallen in love with Kalkan and the surrounding area and hopefully will be booking with you again. Camiel, Sedat and Yilmaz were all very charming and extremely professional. We were lucky with the weather, as it had been raining the week before.
Everyone in our group want to pass on their thanks for helping us have a great and memorable holiday thanks again, Suzanne, Amos, George, Edith, Ben, Laura and Toby.

Just wanted to say thank you again for the use of the villa. We once again had a great holiday. Really enjoyed having the two weeks.
The weather the first week was lovely, hot every day, all in the pool. Woke up to beautiful blue skies etc. second week was not quite so good a couple of overcast days. But this did not stop us from enjoying ourselves and we went out touring. On our last day – heavy rain. But hey, still great.
We just love Kalkan, everything is just perfect and all the local people are so nice. I can see why you love it so much. Camiel was cleaning the pool are again and he is just so friendly and nice. Had lots of conversations with him.
It is a lovely time of the year to visit as not as hot and you can have a good look around. It started to get busier the second week we were there but still nice. I would definitely recommend going in April, a totally different break from the summer months.
Well once again thank you both very much. You certainly have got everything right. Tracey and family.

After the daily grind of work we started to surf the Internet to find the perfect destination to rent a holiday villa for a weeks break in the October school holidays. After looking at the usual holiday spots such as Greece, Spain, Portugal etc, we just felt we wanted something a bit ‘different’! A couple more hours we had the idea of Turkey, as the pound was so strong it represented good value for money. I then proceeded to search for holiday villa to rent in turkey its results returned literally thousands of results with Istanbul along with so many more. I then stumbled across a forum for a small town called Kalkan; the rest we say is history! I looked up all the villas to rent in Kalkan & again plenty of results, after a bit more research and looking at the top 20 results I found the perfect villa – Villa Katmar. We immediately emailed via the contact us form on their website. I received a reply within the hour and was informed it was available and the price was brilliant! After booking the villa our holiday couldn’t come quickly enough! We booked our flights (after much help from Kath the owner of the villa) & arranged car hire (again with Kath’s help!). The week finally came around, we flew from Manchester arriving in Dolman around 8pm, and our transfer was waiting for us to take us to the lovely villa Katmar. A man called Tamer who showed us into the villa and made sure we were OK met us at the villa! As we had been travelling all day we were delighted that there was a welcome hamper with basic provisions. The first day we were there we decided to explore the town, at 30c the town of Kalkan was truly captivating! So many excellent restaurants. (We ate at many over our stay)! Back at the Villa the pool and shade was a peaceful haven and at nights after dining at one of the many eateries we were straight up on the delightful roof terrace with a cold Effes! It was soon time to come home but with the promise of a definite return! FANTASTIC! Laura and Sam

Never expected to love Turkey so much the people are lovely.
I want to move here. We have a house in Spain, would like to swap and come here.
Thank you for a lovely week the fresh bread delivered every day. Love the pool. Had a lovely lunch 1st day at the Doy, Doy, we had spinach cheese pancake, chicken kebab, best ever.
Lovely drive behind in the mountains, we’ll be back. Caroline and Chris

Villa Katmar is amazing with breathtaking views towards the harbour. We took our son and daughter and partners away in August 08 for a much longed for holiday and we could not believe our luck to arrive to such a welcoming villa and stunning scenery. We all had our own floor to our rooms and bathrooms so we all pleased ourselves and we were never on top of each other. We had the roof top terrace to sit out every morning, all the other rooms had their own balcony and terrace down stairs had a lovely chill out zone with 2 hammocks and table and chairs where if you got to hot you could sit in the shade surrounded by the well established garden. The pool was welcoming on a hot day and we enjoyed many a cocktail most evenings around the BBQ area. Kath and Martin has made the villa a home from home and is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. We were warmly welcomed and felt safe as soon as we arrived. All our needs were catered for and nothing was too much trouble. We returned this summer 09 with the family again and took with us my brother. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary and when we went down to the harbour so many people had remembered us and one even remembered what my daughter had ordered off the menu the previous year. She was now 7 months pregnant and was looked after like a queen. I could not recommend villa Katmar and Kalkan highly enough and hope to one day return with our granddaughter. Kalkan itself is such a friendly place and one evening after a lovely meal in one of many roof top restaurants the owner took us home to the villa returning twice to make sure we all enjoyed the evening. Again I could not recommend the villa highly enough and hope you experience such a great time yourselves. Val

We really have had the best time! The villa is superb with everything you could want in it and so clean. We will definitely return to Kalkan.
We have a Turkish friend who lives in Kalkan and she advised us to go to Ciftlick restaurant, which is a trout farm about 5 mins drive up the hill/mountain. Such fresh food and wonderfully prepared. Don’t order off the menu; just say you want them to bring out the traditional everything! You will not be disappointed.
The boat trips all of to the same place. We had a great day out on the Dlara very good value and such beautiful views.
For the best cocktails in a very beautiful surrounding go to Coast @ Gironda, Watch out though they are very strong. Faye

Time has flown by since we returned from Turkey and we are left with lovely distant memories of Kalkan and Villa Katmar- even my light tan is fading rapidly with this dreadful weather back in England.
We really did love Villa Katmar and found it to be by far the best accommodation we have had in Kalkan in 5 years. There was so much space and lots of nooks and crannies so we all had space to either hide away and read in, or relax. It is really difficult to pin you hopes on a place to stay when you have just 2 weeks holiday in the whole year, but Villa Katmar lived up to ALL our expectations. The villa was spacious, airy and beautifully decorated in the local Turkish style and the facilities were excellent. The twice weekly woman cleaners were top class and very friendly. The television and wonderful sound system were much appreciated and it was a nice touch to have some pre-recorded DVD’s to watch. Having bread delivered daily was a real bonus and – not only was it delicious; it saved us from trekking to a shop every day. The other good thing was the water cooler, which was on tap, lasted a long time and cheaper than buying lots of smaller bottles. Having hairdryers, adaptors and iron and board available was really nice, as were pool towels. The pool itself was fantastic (how I miss my daily swims!) and it was lovely to see some greenery, trees and plants, and plenty of shade available too, a real bonus. We loved the very top balcony are with comfortable settees and a fab view. It was my favourite, Ian liked the garden area!
We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Katmar to anyone else and would definitely consider staying in the villa again ourselves. Certainly, we are already discussing the possibility of perhaps an autumn or spring visit, as we have not seen Kalkan outside the main summer season and would really love to.

What a fantastic time we all had. The villa was beautiful and more than we anticipated. We fell in love with Kalkan so much so that next year will be our 25th wedding anniversary and are thinking of treating the family to a summer holiday to celebrate. If your villa is available?
Hubby had new wedding rings made and inscribed while there. They are gorgeous.
We had a fabulous party for Simons 21st and they laid on cake and fireworks and we had taken balloons etc. We had a totally restful and fun holiday. Everyone wants to return next year. People were so friendly and not pushy at all. The food was terrific and we had two or three BBQ’s at home great fun. It was just nice to spend this time with all the family as adults. Val and Family

What a week!! We have had a great holiday, villa is great you can just land and get on with your holiday, you don’t want for anything.
We had a great trip out on the boat (falcon) a full day going from bay to bay for only 35 lira each including lunch, fantastic. Kalamar beach club is fun lots to do. We went to gorge and did some rafting, great day out.
Favourite restaurants: The Fish Terrace, Kosk, Alternatif, Mamhuts (trout farm). Patara beach is special and now the new road has been built, really easy to get there.
We hope to be back next year. Sue and Mike
